Primarily a songwriter and guitar player(finger-picking and slide), I play to the song with minimal effects - vocal harmoniser and a bit of grit via some gain processing. I am a solo performer, but am occasionally joined by other players. Flexibility is my key, and I can prepare sets for gigs in a certain way as required(eg; loud/soft). What you will hear are songs about loneliness, isolation, insanity, murder (and by extension, death!), redemption, vengeance, the testing of faith, and 'what lies beyond'...... Amidst those, some straight up alt-country stuff, often with Oz references; more than a touch of Americana, and doses of sly, dark, humour. Plenty of original compositions too, dealing with Australian themes.
These days I'm primarily about promoting my own music. If I had to put a label on it, I'd say most of my gig material is an alt-country/folk genre, with undertones of Americana!!! There's plenty of up-tempo stuff, but it's maybe not 'dance music' if you get my drift.
Songs from my EPs are included in my sets. It's the type of material which would suit smaller country gigs, pub/clubs, and the like (hey, the Qld town of Texas gets a mention!). I have a 600w PA which amply accommodates most smaller venues such as these.
